Nursery Ideas for Your Special Little One

Hello Bloggers!!!

I have been on vacation all week visiting my baby cousins. They are too cute! This got me thinking about the perfect baby's room for my future little ones. Here are some pretty wonderful nursery ideas...

I love how old fashioned this small room is. The chandelier, floral curtains, and petite decorative table have this room ready for any beautiful baby girl.

As far as storage goes, I like the organization they have in the small closet. Storage boxes hide all the mess and make it look clean and very put together. I also like the letter and shelf design they have done above the bed. This is something simple anyone could do for their future baby room.

This room is my absolute favorite. It would work for a baby girl or baby boy because it is very neutral. The drape above the crib will make any baby feel like royalty.

This nursery can be very neutral also, depending on color choices. I like that it is meant for two. The idea of having another bed in the room is good for a tired mommy/daddy. It is also good for when your child is ready for a big bed. Simply remove the crib from the room and add a little play desk and chair or a dresser.
P.S. the baskets under the bed for storage... so cute and perfect!

One last idea for simple wall decor. Buying your baby's initial letters from a crafts store and painting them to match the room is inexpensive but usually makes as statement. You can also tie ribbon to the letter to hang them. My room (although it is not a nursery) has a large letter sitting on a side table with candles. Make your child's room truly theirs by adding this one piece.

Give that old frame some STRIPES for FUN!

Have one of those boring white frames for multiple photos? Feeling cheap or crafty? Try STRIPES!

You will need:
  • Photo frame you are wanting to paint stripes on
  • 2 chosen paint colors
  • Masking tape no thicker than 1" for a larger frame
  • Paint brush(s)

Steps for striping your frame:
  1. Find your frame. (I bought a 4 photo frame at Wal-Mart with just a plain white insert for a little less than $5.00.
  2. Choose two paint colors that you want your frame to be. I chose to use blue and green as it matched a room of my friend. (You could do 3 or more colors after you get the hang of it)
  3. Paint the frame insert completely with one of the chosen colors
  4. Use masking tape to tape off stripes for your frame.
  5.  Paint the entire thing the second color of choice.
  6. Let the frame dry COMPLETELY. This is probably the most important step. If you do not let it dry you will get splotchy lines and make a mess.
  7. Insert photos.

Paint the Frame.

Tape off the frame.

Paint the frame and peel the tape. Insert photos!

You can do this technique with the inserts and the outer frame.
You can add a bow, flower, or some jewels.
You can also paint the stripes horizontal, diagonal, or vertical.
The possibilities with this one are endless!

Good for gifts for the girls and mom's to be! Make them one of a kind!

Bathroom Chandeliers

One of the cutest trends I have seen a lot lately are bathroom chandeliers. They are so elegant and make a small or plain bathroom look spectacular! Here are some different types of bathrooms all with chandeliers. Could your bathroom use a small make over?

This one is my favorite by far. I love rooms with a farm house feel.

This is an excellent idea for a small bathroom. It has somewhat older tile but the chandelier makes it pretty.

Not into the farm house feel? This is a more updated bathroom with the perfect size chandelier over the tub.

Pop of color anyone? You can use this idea with any colored bathroom. Mine at home is plum/white/silver.
